Outreach Ministries

As part of our mission to engage the community around us through service and mission, we partner with the following local groups:

Project 20/20 – Visit Site
Eyeglasses are collected and provided to an Emmanuel United Methodist ministry for cleaning and distribution during third world optometry missionary trips.

Mobility Worldwide – Visit Site
Hand-powered, personal conveyance vehicles are produced, shipped, and distributed to individuals who need them in 3rd-world countries.

Youth Villages (Faith Life) – Visit Site
Work with a group of 10-12 year old boys every other Saturday for about 1 hour with a Bible story or lesson and a craft during school year. This is held at the Memphis Arlington Road Main Campus.

Holiday Heroes (Youth Villages) – Visit Site
Members of the Church prepare desserts for a volunteers and child residents’ celebration. Typically, 150 desserts are prepared.

Forgiveness House – Visit Site
Feeding and ministering to formerly incarcerated men at a halfway house one night a month.

Kairos Prison Ministry (Men and Women) – Visit Site
Twice a year a team goes into Men’s and Women’s Prisons for a three-day faith weekend. This experience is similar to the Emmaus Walk, Faith Walk, and Disciples Walk.

Kairos Outside – Visit Site
Similar to Kairos, but conducted with the female relatives and loved ones of incarcerated people.

Can-a-week Food Ministry – Visit Site
Non-perishable food goods to First Methodist Church in Memphis to distribute to prequalified “working poor.”

Reelfoot Rural Ministries (Mission Trip) – Visit Site
Annual Trip in the summer (June/July) to the Tiiptonville / Union City / Reelfoot area to perform pre-selected mission work in the form of construction/home improvement type tasks for one (or more) pre­qualified disadvantaged homeowners. This trip requires commitment of at least 8 team members to participate in pre-planning, fund raising, and the actual week-long trip.
